Miss Marz
Silverwaters, Evolve (Vancouver BC)
www.myspace.com/djmissmarz
Born in Poland and raised in Canada, Miss Marz has taken
influence
from many sources. Always creative, and musically attuned,
she began
her journey into the party scene at an early age. Clubbing
at 16,
creating art both on canvas and through digital mediums, it
wasn't
until she began expressing herself musically as a DJ that
she knew she
had truly found her life-long passion. Miss Marz has since
become the
veritable poster girl for electronic music in Western Canada
although
it doesn't hurt that she could be a pin-up poster gal,
either. This
statuesque and sexy mistress of all things banging and funky
has
captured the hearts of party-goers and house heads wherever
she graces
the decks. Cutting her teeth in the west coasts top clubs,
playing
everything from Trance and Techno to her first loves,
Electro and
House, this woman has consistently pushed the envelope with
genre
defying sets and vibrant stage presence. Whether playing
huge
festivals or spinning at intimate private gatherings,
Magnolia packs
the dance floor with her flawless mixing and impeccable
track
selection. Aside from opening for acts like Bad Boy Bill,
Steve
Porter, Anne Savage, Benny Benassi,Paranoid Jack, DJ Wax,
Stereo Soul,
Capital J, Yvonne Black, Miss Mea, and closing for Dave
Armstrong and
Scumfrog, she has also played with and is inspired by house
heavy-weight Christian Alvarez. Her mixing and beauty aside,
one
really has to see her in action to appreciate the
sophisticated energy
that is
Miss Marz.

Amanda Rude
Garage Girls (Vancouver BC)
www.myspace.com/rudeone
Amanda Rude is not afraid to bang t with diva styles and
hard hittin' basslines. She lets it grind, unwind, bump,
funk and kurplunk. At an early age Amanda has already torn
up the BC interior nightlife as she spreads her signature
bassline heavy, UK Garage sound all over the West Coast.
Two years prior to Amanda Rude's emergence, she co-founded a
group called "The Fly DJs" (WWW.FLYDJS.BIZ).
The 'Fly DJs' are an all-girl DJ collective, dedicated to
helping one another and keeping the vibe alive & kicking
wherever possible. This collective has thrown many events
including monthly FlyDJ showcases and free weekly female DJ
lessons.
Music has always played a large roll in Amanda Rude's life,
much thanks to four years of musical training. She has an
excellent sense of rhythm and melody, making her transition
into the world of DJing very natural. Amanda stresses the
importance of being unique using her knowledge of her seven
years representing garage and using the ability to mix new
stompers with rare classics; setting her apart from other
DJs. As a result the Rude One is guaranteed to tear up the
dance floor with every performance by slapping
bass-in-your-face with her exclusive sound.

Lady AK
Silverwaters (VANCOUVER, BC)
http://www.myspace.com/_ladyak
Lady AK, one young successful Vancouver's female DJ, also
known by her first name Alla who's love for music began as a
child. At age four she was enrolled in a local music school
in Kiev, Ukraine. From then on into her teen years she
immersed herself in music theory. Shortly after moving to
Canada, at age of 16, Alla’s friend taught her the
essentials of mixing, peaking her interest in DJ’ing. Later
that year in 1999 she got her first pair of turntables which
came with a box full of random records. It wasn't until 2005
that Lady AK took DJ’ing seriously and swiftly compiled a
massive collection of tunes. Her record collection contains
many different genres of music to create a proper dancing
atmosphere for audiences. Lady AK brings some of the
freshest, unique, and soulful blends of Hip Hop, Breakbeats,
some of the sickest, grubbiest DnB, as well as Liquid Funk,
Jump-Up , Funky, Sexy, and Vocal Electro House, .
Lady AK is a very well known female DJ in Vancouver. She
plays massive amounts of shows all over western Canada. She
is a resident for The Jungle Room in Victoria, “Focus
Fridays”, and often plays radio gig at CJSF “Here Come the
Drums” along with Dristik and Rukus. In the last few months
she has played along side DJs and producers like Dillinja,
Lemon D, Hive, Kenny Ken, Third Eye Tribe, Ill-esha, Capital
J, T. Power, and many more. Her main purpose is to bring
quality music to the dance floor with flawless mixing to
stir up the mood of the crowd.
Lady AK is now concentrating on production. Her producing
interests began after working on a track together with AAA
called "2 Hands" and she has now branched off to work on her
own ideas. She has also performed vocals featured on the
track "Love It", produced by Dungeon Crew (UK). Watch out
for her upcoming tunes in 2007!

Mi'ka
Project Harmony, Fusion Lounge
http://www.myspace.com/misskattykat
Mi'ka (pronounced Meeka) began her journey as a DJ in the
fall of 2005. Quickly gaining momentum, Mi'ka has played at
various outdoor and club events throughout the Portland and
surrounding area including, Pala, Viper Room, Pi-Rem, Fez,
Barrauda, The Locker Room, Walrus and Soak. She currently
holds a residency @ Fusion Lounge, Groove Nation. Mi'ka
thrives on harmonic mixing. Creating sets that flow together
in such harmony you may not notice when one track ends and
the next begins. Depending on the night you can expect
beautiful minimal tech house or some banging techy/hard
trance that can border on hardstyle. Mi'ka will tell you,
this is her Ying and Yang of musical genres.

Dj Venus

Nyx
djnyx.com / breakbeatninjas.com
http://www.myspace.com/missdjnyx
Nyx (aka Jessica Pace) immersed herself in Washington's
electronic music scene in late 2003. Her first party
experience rekindled her passion for electronic music, and
as she watched the DJ's doing their thing, she realized that
DJ'ing was a something she was determined to pursue. In
early 2004 she picked up her first records, got behind the
decks and has been playing ever since.
Nyx found that the intensity and insanity of the broken
beats were the sound that she was looking for. Her short
learning curve, along with her enthusiasm, determination,
and guidance from a fellow dj allowed her to hone her skills
in a very short period of time. Two months after she
started, Nyx landed her debut gig in a small bar in downtown
Seattle.
Since her first performance, she has played in many
locations along Western Washington, becoming a staple in the
Seattle Breakbeat scene. Nyx has also played in Vancouver,
B.C., Portland, OR., Boise, ID., Boston, Mass., Los Angeles,
CA, and Salt Lake City, Utah. Nyx is also the only female
resident on c98.5fm (Seattle's only electronic music radio
streaming worldwide @ c895worldwide.com) and has 4 live
mixes from the station for download. In June 2006 she
released her first CD "Addiction" which has received a great
response!
Her style combines many different qualities of music, from
filthy lows and complex drums beats, to some dirty funk and
driving synths, as well as a more progressive sound with
melodic nuances. All of this assembled in her smooth and
fast mixes, as she brings more and more energy with her
every time she steps up behind the decks. Its also not
uncommon for her to switch it up with the pounding 4/4's and
bubbly basslines of speed garage, or the grime and rawness
of DnB as she flies through records during her set. She is
something you won’t want to miss!

Charly
Konkrete Jungle
http://www.myspace.com/djcharly
Charly has been shaking up dance floors across the country
for nearly a decade playing DnB, UK Hardcore, and tonight
she'll be playing Techno and House. She is honored to
currently be a Konkrete Jungle Seattle resident, and has
played shows for Kaos Theory, Bodyrock, and Qool Seattle.
Her unique energy behind the decks is staggering and
contagious, and she guarantees satisfaction!

B.Fly
Thetabass/Beatcon/Qool/The Vortex
on C89.5
www. myspace. com/whybfly
This playful li'l bombshell is a force to be reckoned with.
She has been in the electronic music scene for over a
decade, starting out with house and garage in her hometown
of London, and then immersing herself in breakbeat culture
when she moved to Florida in '99. Since her descent onto the
turntables one year ago, she has gained considerable
momentum in the Seattle breakbeat scene, picking up
residencies and affiliations by those that are mesmerized by
her relaxed and happy presence behind the decks. Proudly
playing all vinyl, B.Fly promises to deliver Funky,
Progressive, and Deep Groovin' Basslines. Come, hear what
the "Buzz" is about; and be inspired by B.Fly, who has
gained mad respect and popularity amongst her peers and fans
in the last year. Meet your newest DJ, Model, Promoter, and
up and coming producer.

Choptix
WebbwerX
http://www.myspace.com/mcpdjchopstix
Dj Chopstix is the queen of bouncy Trancecore in Seattle.
Originally a resident at the now remembered “Manga Lounge”
Dj Chopstix found her way as a DJ with Seattle trance heroes
like Dj Monkey, Beefer, and Chris Atom.
Unlike many of the “Manga Lounge” Dj’s, Chopstix liked it
hard and banging. She earned a reputation as a shy cute
Asian girl who would sneak behind the decks in the dark and
drop the biggest, meanest beats of the night.
After a time she would find herself under the Madcow crew
affiliation alongside the rest of the “Sea of Japan” dj
crew. With Madcow she experienced such shows as Sakura Con
and Kandee Land 2.
Her following of Asian Kandee Ravers wearing Chopstix in
honor of their Dj hero is a site to see at any event. This
is what really impressed promoter Travis Webb of WebbwerX.
Soon after seeing her and some of the other Sea of Japan
Dj’s, WebbwerX offered affiliation under the legendary name
for her and Dj Bouncy, also of Madcow. And like the Evil Dr.
he is, he had a stipulation… In order for the young up and
comers to join the legendary crew they had to make a
sacrifice and leave behind their previous affiliations.
A war broke out, and after months of battle and casualties
between Travis WebbwerX and Beefer, Chopstix and Bouncy were
kidnapped and became members of the evil rave promotion
crew.
Biography Disclaimer: This bio was written by Evil Dr.
WebbwerX because this dj was too lazy or busy or whatever to
write their own bio. So Dr. WebbwerX took creative liberty
and though based on actually history

Robogirls, the WebbwerX annual cosplay theme show with a
plot, is coming up on its fourth year. With an online
trading card release, a booth at Sakura Con, a comic book,
and “Dr.WebbwerX” showing up all over the place talking
about it, the show promises to be one of WebbwerX largest
shows..
The show was originally the brain child of Jimni Cricket.
She started the idea as a joke in the kitchen of the
infamous “aquatorium” to tease Travis Webbwerx about is
infamous fascination with robot girls. The idea behind it
was to put three things that Jimni Cricket knew Travis
WebbwerX loved; Raves, robot girls and anime.
Travis and Jimni envisioned a monstrous party, but were too
inexperienced to manage what they had envisioned. They had
planned to create a story and plot which would generate a
fun background to the party that people would dress up for..
What they were able to manage was a full page flyer, some
nice décor, and a major headlining Dj, Dj Polywog from the
movie Groove. The event was presented in the now legendary
venue The Washington Hall.
Even though the whole of Robogirls 1 was not what they had
envisioned, the WebbwerX crew accomplished a lot on what was
at the time the most ambitious event they had ever
conceived. The crew spent 3 days decorating and reshaping
the facade of the Washington Hall stage. When the crew was
finished, the large “Jazz” stage was reduced to a 12 x 6
foot glowing window behind giant black sheets. This created
a shiny black wall, with a simple glowing rectangle in the
center where the dj stood as a silhouette. Above this
rectangle a large screen running video of code and 3d robot
images played, completed by a shinny silver mannequin with
lights, electronics and giant white flowing angel wings that
spanned the ceiling.
“Robogirls 2” was a greater effort to achieve the whole
Robogirls concept. The flyer featured original art work by
Raven Winter and would featured the first plot references
for Robogirls, introducing the main icon of the event to
party goers, Kiara, the main icon of the event to party
goers. The flyer had all the female dj’s portrayed as anime
like Chibi’s. Patrons were encouraged to dress up as their
favorite sci-fi and anime characters, with girls cosplaying
as robot characters getting a special discount. This was the
first known Seattle reference to WebbwerX now popular
cosplay raves.
"Robogirls 2” was by far more successful than “Robogirls”
and nearly doubled in size, making it one of WebbwerX
largestshows.. Members of Nwtekno (www.nwtekno.com)
enjoyed scripted postings from Dr. Ido and plot additions in
serial form. Though at the time no formal outline had been
generated, the posts were entertaining.. (However Dr.
WebbwerX had no editor at the time, so Dr. Ido’s posts were
worse then this post.)
Another milestone of “Robogirls 2” was the addition of Sonny
Chiba’s half hour “break-in set” as Dr. Ido. The set was
designed in to give some entertaining drama to the main
stage. It incorporated a brief show of Dr. Ido stealing the
stage from the female dj’s just before the headliner.
Towards the end of his set, girls at the show were
encouraged to boo him off by the other female dj’s and allow
the female headliner to play. In this case he was dragged
off by Madora Mew and Jimni Cricket.
“Robogirls 3” though originally planned full year in
advance, should have been the full incorporation of
everything, however it snuck up on the crew quickly.” To
while “Robogirls 3” was planned a full year in advance and
should have been the full incorporation of everything, it
snuck up on the crew quickly. Though originally planned to
be advertised with a comic and have weeks of promotions,
artist delays and staff issues pushed the party into the
last minute and over drive by the crew. The flyer and the
shows lack of any reference homage to the original franchise
may have damaged the turn out. It probably made matters
worse that there was only one weekend of promotions, and the
show was scheduled to compete with Bad Boy Bill at the last
minute.
Even with all the headaches the party was a resounding
success and helped continue the franchise of Robogirls,
bringing in numbers barely short of the second Robogirls and
still greater numbers than the first. It was the dominating
party that weekend.
